This assessment is for gas engineers and plumbers who are already registered with Gas Safe. The assessment takes approximately 4 hours with a combination of practical and theoretical work.

What will I do?

Training and Assessment will include:

  • Identifying unsafe conditions and diagnostics of gas safety faults
  • The effect of ineffective appliance case seals
  • Suitable/unsuitable appliance room/space locations
  • Proximity of combustible materials – fireproofing of compartments
  • The operation of mechanical and electrical gas safety control devices
  • Condensate removal and disposal
  • Principle of adjustment of air/gas ratio valves
  • CO and combustion ratio checks using an ECGA when commissioning a condensing boiler incorporating air/gas ratio control valve technology

There are no formal entry requirements to attend the course, however, you must have relevant gas work experience.

CENWAT will take you 4 hours to complete during 1 session at our ACS Centre, on our Boston Campus (Rochford)

CENWAT will cost Β£124 per applicant

CENWAT included a mixture of practical and theory assessments including a multiple choice examination.
