The Photography NCFE Certificate Level 2 is designed for learners with an intermediate knowledge of photography who wish to develop an understanding of photographic processes and the photo imaging industry.

This qualification consists of three units, each one of which covers a specialist area of photography. These units work together allowing you to produce final images and related work for assessment via an iterative process where work is refined in response to feedback from peers and lecturers.

What will I do?

The qualification consists of two mandatory units which are centred around photographic practice and developing and adapting photographic ideas.

In addition, there is one specialist unit where learners can specialise in a particular area of photography, these Include:

  • Dark Room Practice
  • Studio Practice
  • Location Photography Practice
  • Commercial Photography Practice
  • Documentary Photography
  • Experimental / Alternative Processes.

Entry requirements include English at L1 as well as the successful completion of a Level 1 Photography course.

All learners will require their own camera and associated equipment.

Photography NCFE Certificate Level 2 will take you 9 months to complete at our Boston Campus (Rochford).

There is an expectation to complete photography at home to back up the classroom activity.

This course will cost £458.00.

The course is designed to allow learners to produce final images and related work for assessment via an iterative process.

You will be assessed via written work, practical application, and final images, with annotations and evidence of your processes required in sketchbooks.

Successful competition could lead to a L3 or HE qualification in Photography or similar area.

Learners are expected to pay for printing of images, mounting work when required, and sketchbooks as well as associated stationery.
