Digital Media Introductory Award Level 1
Add to ShortlistThis Level 1 Digital Media Introductory Award is aimed at those who have an interest in digital media creation and are looking to advance their skills to improve their digital content creation and hosting.
On this course, you will develop your understanding of how digital media works and learn how to use it more effectively to increase conversions and reach wider audiences both in and out of the workplace. You will then experiment with your digital content before producing finished media and publishing it to a recognised platform.
You will achieve a Level 1 qualification in Digital Media, which will allow you to progress to Level 2 courses in the future as well as supporting ability to create digital media for business or personal content hosting.
What will I do?
During the Level 1 Digital Media Award, you will study two units:
- Developing a Personal Progression Plan
- Editing and Sharing a Media Product
You will study in a fully functional Mac studios using Adobe Creative Cloud, which is also accessible at home, as well as having access to DSL cameras if required.
In addition to your course, you may also study either Functional Skills or GCSE English and Maths, dependent on your current GCSE grade.
Entry Qualifications
There are no formal entry qualifications for the Digital Media Award.
Attendance
The Level 1 qualification in Digital Media will take you one year to complete. You will attend College one evening a week, 6.00pm - 9.00pm.
There is an expectation to complete media content at home as well to back up the classroom activity.
Fees
The Level 1 Digital Media Award is free, if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.
If you are aged 19+, this course will cost ยฃ275.

How Will I Be Assessed
The in Level 1 Digital Media Award content will be practical application, with annotation required in Word. The idea of the course is to give you confidence in using Digital Media. Under the guidance and feedback from your subject specialist lecturer, you will have a strong understanding of your camera's vocational capabilities.
Where Could It Lead?
Successful completion could lead onto a Level 2 course.
