The Level 1 Art, Design and Media Award is for you if you are interested in a course that covers the whole of the creative industries.

The course will allow you to try your hand at practical skills in the creative Arts and Media Sectors, specifically art, craft and design, creative media, photography and video production. You will develop your knowledge of different careers within these industries, what the job involves, and the different pathways you may want to take in order to achieve your career aims.

The breadth of this course will enable you to experience a wide range of different pathways, giving you confidence to progress to further education on your chosen pathway.

This course has been designed specifically to develop practical skills and knowledge across the whole of the Creative Arts and Media Sectors, giving you the chance to experience a 'taster' of all sectors before progressing onto a pathway of your choice.

You will study a total of two units covering the different creative arts and media practices of art, craft and design, photography and video production as well as an introduction to employment available and career pathways needed to get to the creative career of your choice.

This course is delivered in a practical way, but there is a requirement for some written work and research in order to achieve the qualification.

Completion of this course can help you to progress onto a Level 2 qualification in either Art and Design, Graphic Design, Photography or Media (Film).

As a Creative Arts student you will have access to our art, design, media, music and photography studios, including iMac editing suites using industry standard software.

Your lecturers all have a working knowledge of the Creative Arts and Media Industries and are still actively involved in the business outside of the College, resulting in accurate, up to date knowledge.
