If so, have you ever considered a career in the Adult Care Sector? Adult Care Workers are in demand and the industry is always seeking people who are passionate about supporting and enabling people to live a more independent and fulfilling life.

If you are aged 16-18 years old, you can take your first steps into the Adult Care Sector now by applying for our Level 2 Vocational Adult Care course. As a vocational qualification you will spend most of this course in the workplace gaining those vital employment skills and experience, helping to create a career pathway into the sector.

Please note access internet access and computer/laptop access are a requirement for this course.

Upon successful completion of this course, the qualification you will achieve is the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Diploma in Care.

Please note - Learners studying a Health and Social Care course need to meet current Government legal requirements relating to COVID-19 vaccination status when working in the health and social care sector. This means learners must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, this includes being double vaccinated and having received a booster. Learners need to meet this legal requirement to be able to attend placement, without attending placement learners cannot complete their qualifications.

If you think you may be medically exempt from the COVID-19 mandatory vaccination. Learners will need to provide evidence of an NHS Covid pass medical exemption. There is further guidance on how to apply for a medical exemption and prove you are unable to get vaccinated on the government website.

  • Handle Information in Care Settings
  • Awareness of Dementia
  • Introduction to Personalisation in Care
  • Understanding How to Work in End of Life Care
  • Provide Support to Manage Pain and Discomfort
  • Supporting Individuals to Eat and Drink
  • Support Individuals to Meet Personal Care Needs
  • Undertake Agreed Pressure Area Care
  • Safe Movement and Handling of Individuals in Accordance with Own Care Plan
  • Supporting Infection Prevention and Control in Social Care

The entry qualifications for the Level 2 Vocational Adult Care Route are two GCSEs at grades 4 or above (Old GCSE grade C or above).

You must be aged between 16-18 years old.

If you require a Maths or English qualification you will be expected to attend for an additional day per week.

The Level 2 Vocational Adult Care Route will take you 12 months to complete.

You will attend College for 1 day per week with a further 1-2 days in a work placement setting.

If you require a Maths or English qualification you will be expected to attend for an additional day per week.

The Level 2 Vocational Adult Care Route is available to those aged between 16-18 years old only and is free if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.

The course is assessed using a variety of methods and will be split 40% knowledge based and 60% practical based assessments.

An E-Portfolio will also be used for your assessments.

This course provides the opportunity for you to develop knowledge and understanding of Adult Care and progression can lead onto Apprenticeships, employment or further education.

Further qualifications include the Level 3 Lead Adult Care Apprenticeship and Level 3 Lead Adult Care qualification.
