The Pearson BTEC Level 4 Healthcare Practice (HNC) is the equivalent to the 1st year of a University Degree and provides a specialist programme of study that covers the technical knowledge, understanding and practical skills relevant to careers in the health and social care sector.
This is a work-related qualification for students taking their first steps into employment, or for those already in employment and seeking career development opportunities. The purpose of BTEC Higher Nationals in Public Services is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the public services sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualification aims to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects.
This Level 4 Healthcare Practice HNC is made up of four core units and three units.
The entry qualifications for the Level 4 Healthcare Practice (HNC) are an MMP profile (minimum 80 new UCAS points) other related level qualifications such as an Access to Higher Education diploma are also accepted.
You will also need a grade C or above (New GCSE grade 4 or above) in English and Maths (e.g. GCSE or Functional Skills) and/or minimum IELTS score 6.
Individual cases will be considered.
The Healthcare Practice HNC will take you one year to complete. You will attend College 2 days per week at Boston College Spalding plus independent study.
Please note you will also need to commit to work placement during the duration of your course.
The Healthcare Practice HNC will cost you £5550.

The assessment of Pearson's Higher National qualifications are criterion-referenced and you will provide evidence in the form of assignments which are assessed against the unit learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
All units are individually graded as a pass, merit or distinction. A pass is awarded for the achievement of all outcomes against the specified assessment criteria. Merit and distinction grades are awarded for higher level achievement.
