The Level 2 Health and Social Care Diploma is designed for those who wish to work within the Health and Social Care sector. You will be required to complete a minimum of 60 hours work placement over the duration of the course.
Tutors have a wide range of expertise within the field of health and social care including qualified nurses in the disciplines of adult nursing, learning disability and mental health as well as highly experienced social care managers.
Upon successful completion of this course, the qualification you will achieve is the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care .
Please note - Learners studying a Health and Social Care course need to meet current Government legal requirements relating to COVID-19 vaccination status when working in the health and social care sector. This means learners must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, this includes being double vaccinated and having received a booster. Learners need to meet this legal requirement to be able to attend placement, without attending placement learners cannot complete their qualifications.
If you think you may be medically exempt from the COVID-19 mandatory vaccination. Learners will need to provide evidence of an NHS Covid pass medical exemption. There is further guidance on how to apply for a medical exemption and prove you are unable to get vaccinated on the government website.

The course also contains a work placement component in a Health and Social Care setting. During placement you will experience completing practical care tasks with individuals. You are supported by the tutor who will visit the setting when you are in placement.
You will also receive training sessions from competent tutors to include basic personal care and Manual Handling for which you will receive a certificate.
If you have a Grade 2 or below in English or maths, you can study towards either a PASS in Functional Skills Level 2 or a GCSE grade 4-9. Once you have achieved either qualification, you will not be required to undertake any further English or maths.
Full time 16-19 learner with a Grade 3, must study towards a GCSE grade 4-9.
The Health and Social Care Diploma is free, if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.
If you are aged 19+, this course will cost £1500.
