The Level 2 Counselling Skills CACHE Certificate is designed for those who wish to develop counselling skills and increase their self-awareness. Successful completion of the course means you would have developed a greater self-awareness, counselling skills and an understanding of counselling and the counselling process.

What will I do?

During the Level 2 Counselling Skills CACHE Certificate the mandatory units you will study are:

  • Using counselling skills
  • Introduction to counselling skills theories
  • Diversity and ethics in the use of counselling skills
  • Counselling skills and personal development

There are no formal entry qualifications for the Counselling Skills CACHE Certificate, although you do need to be aged 18 years or over to apply for this course.

The Counselling Skills CACHE Certificate will take you one academic year to complete. You will attend College one evening a week.

The course is workshop based, with a significant amount of counselling skills practice in groups, triad work and role-play.

The Counselling Skills CACHE Certificate is free, if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.

If you are aged 19+, this course will ยฃ541.
If full course payment is made on the first day of the course a discount may apply.

There will be on-going assessment throughout the course, you will be required to build a portfolio and keep a reflective diary. The tutor may carry out observation and professional discussions to contribute towards the portfolio.

It will be a useful progression route for the Counselling Diploma Level 3.
