This Level 4 Counselling Practice Diploma is aimed at those whose qualification goal is to achieve professional status in counselling.
The course will enable you to embark on practice working within an ethical framework.
The course has three mandatory units, and four optional units and will be offered over a two-year period.
After you have developed knowledge and understanding in the main approaches to counselling, you will evaluate the underlying concepts and principles of a core chosen approach/model of counselling.
Although the course is primarily aimed at those who want to work towards achieving counselling status. It will also prove useful to those with existing counselling training who regularly use counselling skills in other roles.
You will be expected to secure an appropriate placement with support from tutors, the placement requirement in this qualification is essential to the personal and professional development of the practitioner.
Upon successful completion of this course, the qualification you will achieve is the AIM Awards Level 4 Diploma in Counselling Practice.
Please note - Although legislation has changed, some workplaces do still require employees to be fully vaccinated against Covid19. We would encourage you to take part in any vaccination programme recommended if you are working or volunteering in Social Care. Not having a vaccination may impact your ability to complete placement activities as part of your course due to the vulnerability of some clients you may work with.
If you think you may be medically exempt from the COVID-19 mandatory vaccination. Learners will need to provide evidence of an NHS Covid pass medical exemption. There is further guidance on how to apply for a medical exemption and prove you are unable to get vaccinated on the government website.
You must achieve three mandatory components and four optional components to achieve this qualification.
