The qualification is primarily for learners who have a responsibility at work or are involved in voluntary and community activities having access to an AED. The learner will gain the knowledge and skills to be able to recognise and treat someone who has suffered cardiac arrest and to respond quickly, calmly and confidently.

The qualification will be valid for three years.

Entry Qualifications

There are no formal entry requirements for the Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an AED course however; you must be aged 16+.

The Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an AED course will take you four hours to complete and can be studied at either Boston, Spalding or in the workplace.

The Basic Life Support and Safe Use of an AED course costs £50 per person.
