The ESOL course is designed to meet your needs if you do not have previously experience at school or college in England and do not possess the level of language skills necessary to further your education and training. The course is designed to integrate you and help you progress to a further academic or vocational course at the College.

What will I do?

You will study many units including:

  • ICT
  • English
  • Maths
  • ESOL in the vocational setting e.g. Hair and Beauty, Motor Vehicle, Construction, Catering

You will study in classrooms to undertake your practical work and utilise e-learning to enhance your course.

There will be opportunities to take on work placements and travel on external visits where possible.

One-to-one support is available and an Individual Learning Plan will be implemented to ensure you have everything you need to successful complete your course.

There are no formal entry qualifications for the ESOL course.

The ESOL course will take you one year to complete. You will attend College for three days a week.

The ESOL course is free for those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course.

For those aged 19+, this course will cost £1200.
Fee remission may apply depending on personal circumstances, please enquire with the Registry Department for further information on 01205 365701.

You will be assessed through external assessments/ exams, portfolio (written, videoed, audio recorded), case studies, role play practical

Successful completion of this course could lead to further training, opportunities to progress your career or better employment opportunities.

There may be a cost for educational visits.
