This part time ESOL course is for you if English is not your first language.

There are two options available to for you to study, Speaking and Listening or Reading and Writing.

The Speaking and Listening ESOL certificate is available at five different levels - Entry 1 (beginner), 2 (elementary), and 3 (pre-intermediate), and Levels 1 (equivalent to GCSE D-G) and 2 (equivalent to GCSE A-C).

The Reading and Writing ESOL certificate is also available at five different levels - Entry 1 (beginner), 2 (elementary), and 3 (pre-intermediate), and Levels 1 (equivalent to GCSE D-G) and 2(equivalent to GCSE A-C).

You will be assessed before you start your course to determine which level is most suitable for you. Studying is flexible at a choice of locations and times.

What will I do?

Dependant on which pathway you choose to study your focus will be on either ESOL Speaking and Listening Certificate or Reading and Writing Certificate.

At entry level you will also be able to study the Living and Working in the UK course which will add to your language course and develop your knowledge of key parts of British life and culture.

However, you will still undertake activities covering aspects of the other pathway regardless.

There are no formal entry qualifications for the ESOL course.

Attendance for the ESOL course will vary depending on your chosen pathway.

The ESOL Speaking and Listening Certificate will take you 14 weeks to complete, starting in September 2022. You will study at College for 2.5 hours a week, 6:00pm – 8:30pm.

The ESOL Reading and Writing Certificate will take you 18 weeks to complete, starting in January 2023. You will study at College for 2.5 hours a week, 6:00pm – 8:30pm.

Please note: due to social distancing measures required in educational settings some parts of this course may be delivered online.

The ESOL Entry 1 to Entry 3 Speaking and Listening Certificate will cost £75, plus £20 exam fee for each level of study if you are an EU resident.

The ESOL Level 1 and 2 Speaking and Listening Certificate will cost £130, plus £20 exam fee for each level of study if you are an EU resident.

If you are a non-EU resident, this ESOL Speaking and Listening Certificate will cost £260, plus £20 exam fee for each level of study.

The ESOL Entry level Reading and Writing Certificate will cost £150, plus £30 exam fee for each level of study if you are an EU resident.

The ESOL Level 1 & 2 Reading and Writing Certificate will cost £170, plus £30 exam fee for each level of study if you are an EU resident.

If you are a non-EU resident, the ESOL Reading and Writing Certificate will cost £300, plus £30 exam fee for each level of study.

Your course fee includes extra free lessons.
