The ESOL course will meet your needs if you do not have previous experience at school or college in the UK or do not possess the level of language skills necessary to further your education and training. The course will help you to learn about work and life in the UK and you can progress to another course in the college or to work.

What will I do?

You will study many units including:

  • English
  • Maths
  • ICT
  • Employability skills
  • Living and Working in the UK

There will be opportunities to take on work placements and travel on external visits where possible.

One-to-one support is available, and an Individual Learning Plan will be implemented to ensure you have everything you need to successfully complete your course.

There are no formal entry qualifications for the ESOL course.

The ESOL course will take you one year to complete. You will attend College for four days a week.

The ESOL course is free for those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course.

For those aged 19+, this course will cost ยฃ1500.
Fee remission may apply depending on personal circumstances, please enquire with the Registry Department for further information on 01205 365701.

You will be assessed through external assessments/ exams, portfolio (written, videoed, audio recorded), case studies, role play practical

Successful completion of this course could lead to further training, opportunities to progress your career or better employment opportunities.

There may be a cost for educational visits.
