If you need a qualification to help you progress your career, take your next steps in education or develop your knowledge for further training and development then a functional skills course could be for you!
The Functional Skills Maths course is available on five levels: Entry 1, Entry 2, and Entry 3, Level 1 and Level 2. You will undertake an initial assessment to determine which level will be most suitable for you to start at. It is recognised by employers and most universities.
Functional Skills Maths gives you the skills to function effectively in your life and work.

The course is delivered by experienced tutors using a variety of interesting resources. Sessions are friendly and fun and allow you to work at your own pace. You will study in our classrooms and via e-learning.
Functional Skills Maths is a key qualification and is suitable for those learners who do not currently hold a GCSE in the subject or ESOL learners who have achieved ESOL Level 2 in reading and speaking and listening.
To study this course you will need to be able to cope with the regular commitment of a once a week class and capable of some independent study.
Functional Skills Maths will take you a total of 17 weeks to complete. You will attend our Spalding Campus.
Majority of Functional Skills courses are free if you do not have a current GCSE garde 4 (old GCSE grade C).
If you have already completed a Functional Skills level, you will naturally progress onto the next level with no charge.
A fee may occur if you wish to repeat a Functional Skills level.
You will be assessed via a paper-based or online examination at the end of your course. This paper has two sections that are taken simultaneously. The first section is non-calculator and the second section is calculator.
If required, an additional resit can be offered.
Certificates in Maths can help you to gain access to further training, in work and in your day-to-day lives as well as career progression and enhanced job opportunities.
Level 1 is equivalent to vocational GCSE grades 2 β 3 (Old GCSE grade E - D).
Level 2 is equivalent to vocational GCSE grades 4 - 5 (Old GCSE grade C).
