This Knowledge Shop (Workshop Skills) course is your chance to come and join us in the Engineering, Manufacturing and Technology centre at Boston College and explore the range of practical workshops.

This course is perfect for people wanting to learn new skills, upskill or reignite a previous hobby/interest.

What will I do?

During the course you will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of knowledge and skill development tasks including Turning, Milling, Bench Fitting, Forge Work etc.

There are no formal qualifications for the Knowledge Shop (Workshop Skills).

The Knowledge Shop (Workshop Skills) will start on Tuesday 6th June 2023, 5:30pm - 7:30pm.

The course will take 10 weeks in total to complete.

The Knowledge Shop (Workshop Skills) course may be fully funded by the Adult Education Budget should you be eligible under the following criteria:

  • Be aged 19 or older on the 31st August
  • Be either unemployed and receiving JSA, ESA or Universal Credit (subject to criteria) OR be earning less than £17,374.50 (annual gross salary) a year

If you do not qualify for funding under the AEB budget, fees may vary depending on circumstances, please enquire for futher information.

Please note that all fees are subject to change.

This course has no formal assessment involved and will provide the learner with knowledge on the subject via knowledge based sessions.

This course could lead onto studying an accredited course within Engineering.
