Skills into Health and Social Care is a FREE five week course designed to help you gain employment in the Care sector. The course covers a broad range of topics enabling you to gain qualifications in a wide range of skills required within the industry.

What will I do?

The Level 1 accredited topics you will cover during Skills into Health and Social Care include –

  • Understand the range of service provision and roles with Health & Social Care
    Develop knowledge of the range of services and roles within health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare.
  • Awareness of protection and safeguarding
    Develop knowledge of protection and safeguarding in health and social care (adults and children and young people), early years and childcare.
  • Introduction to Mental Health
    Provide an understanding of mental health problems, a person centred approach and knowledge of the importance of relevant communication skills when working with individuals.
  • Introduction to Dementia
    Provide an understanding of dementia, a person centred approach and knowledge of the importance of relevant communication skills when working with individuals.
  • Intro Awareness to Person Centred Support
    Understand how to provide person centred support when supporting individuals in day-to-day activities.

There are no formal entry qualifications for Skills into Health and Social Care.

Skills into Health and Social Care will take one day per week to complete over five weeks. The course will run at both our Boston and Spalding Campus on the following dates -

Boston Campus

Tuition fees are FREE for those in receipt of JSA, ESA (WRAG) or some Universal Credit, also for those on low wages.
