Introduction to Early Years is a FREE five week course to help you gain employment in the sector. The course covers a broad range of topics enabling you to gain qualifications in a wide range of skills required within the industry.

What will I do?

The Level 1 accredited topics you will cover during the Introduction to Early Years course includes –

  • Introduction to children and young people’s development
    The aim of this unit is to introduce the main stages of development, the factors which affect development and how to support the development of children and young people.
  • Introduction to the physical care of babies and young children
    The aim of this unit is to introduce you to the requirements of the physical care needs and routines for the safe care of babies and young children.
  • Encourage children and young people to eat healthily
    The aim of this unit is to provide you with knowledge about healthy eating and how to encourage children and young people to eat healthy.
  • Introduction to the development of children and young people through play
    The aim of this unit is to introduce you to factors that promote inclusive and stimulating play environments and the importance of play to children and young people’s development.
  • Introduction to communication in health and social care, early years and childcare
    The aim of this unit is to provide you with an introduction to communication methods and how to communicate with any child, young person or adult.

There are no formal entry qualifications for the Introduction to Early Years course.

The Introduction to Early Years course will take one day per week to complete over five weeks. The course will run at both our Boston and Spalding Campus on the following dates -

Boston Campus

Friday 7th June 2019
Every Tuesday, 9:30am-3:30pm for five weeks

Spalding Campus

Tuesday 7th May 2019
Every Tuesday, 9:30am-3:30pm for five weeks

Tuition fees are FREE for those in receipt of JSA, ESA (WRAG) or some Universal Credit, also for those on low wages.

Our Introduction to Early Years course can help you to build your confidence and develop your interests to get you into work.
