Safeguarding in Education Level 1
Add to ShortlistAre you considering a career with children? If you would like to move into a career that is either in education or childcare, this safeguarding course could be for you.
The Level 1 Safeguarding in Education and Childcare Settings Award will provide learners with an understanding of safeguarding and keeping children safe within education and childcare settings.
Completion of this course can help you progress onto other Early Years and Schools courses for those interested in pursuing a career within the education sector. The course is delivered lecturers with invaluable industry experience.
What will I do?
During the Level 1 Safeguarding in Education and Childcare Settings Award you will cover the following –
- Understand safeguarding and protection in education and childcare settings
- Understand the role of the education and childcare practitioner in safeguarding children and learners
Entry Qualifications
There are no formal entry qualifications for the Level 1 Safeguarding in Education and Childcare Settings Award.
Attendance
The Level 1 Safeguarding in Education and Childcare Settings Award will be studied at our Boston Campus (Rochford). Starting Monday 5th February 2024 with sessions running between 9:30am and 12:30pm. The course will be completed over 2 months.
Fees
The Level 1 Safeguarding in Education and Childcare Settings Award may be fully funded by the Adult Education Budget should you be eligible under the following criteria:
- Be aged 19 or older on the 31st August at the start of the current academic year
- Be either unemployed and receiving JSA, ESA or Universal Credit (subject to criteria) OR be earning less than £18,525 (annual gross salary) a year
If you do not qualify for funding under the AEB budget this course will cost you £238.
Please note that all fees are subject to change.
How Will I Be Assessed
This course will all be assessed via written assignments.
Where Could It Lead?
This course could enable progression onto the Level 1 Preparing to Work in Schools Award or Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
