The Level 1 Encouraging Children to Eat Healthily course will provide you with the knowledge regarding healthy eating and equip you with the skills needed to encourage healthy eating in young people and children.

Taught by lecturers with invaluable industry experience, Completion of this course can help you progress onto other Early Years and Schools courses for those interested in pursuing a career within the education sector.

What will I do?

Throughout the Level 1 Encouraging Children to Eat Healthily course you will cover a range of topics including:

  • Introduction to Healthy Eating Principles
  • Factors Influencing Food Choice
  • Activities that encourage Healthy Eating

There are no formal entry qualifications for the Level 1 Encouraging Children to Eat Healthily course.

The Level 1 Encouraging Children to Eat Healthily course will take one month to complete, starting on the below dates. The course will be completed via one three-hour session at Boston College Rochford Campus between 09:30am and 12:30pm, followed by remote support.

Rochford Campus

  • Monday 18th November 2022
  • Monday 6th March 2023

The Level 1 Encouraging Children to Eat Healthily course may be fully funded by the Adult Education Budget should you be eligible under the following criteria:

  • Be aged 19 or older on the 31st August at the start of the current academic year
  • Be either unemployed and receiving JSA, ESA or Universal Credit (subject to criteria) OR be earning less than Β£17,374.50 (annual gross salary) a year

If you do not qualify for funding under the AEB budget this course will cost you Β£94.

Please note that all fees are subject to change.

You will be assessed though a written assignment.

Completion of this course could lead onto other courses at Boston College including:

  • Level 1 Introduction to Learning Disability
  • Level 1 Introduction to Autism Spectrum Condition
  • Level 1 Award in preparing to work in schools
  • Level 1 Award in working with children
  • Level 2 Certificate STL
  • Level 3 Certificate STL
  • There are no additional costs related to this course
