Food Safety in Catering Level 2
Add to ShortlistThis one day course is aimed at caterers and other food handlers and will involve learning about food safety in the storage, preparation, cooking, service and handling of food.
The topics are regarded by the Foods Standards Agency as being important to maintaining good practice.
What will I do?
During the course, you will cover a variety of topics including:
- Common food hygiene terminology
- Know about food law and legislation
- Know how contamination can be prevented and controlled
- Understand food storage and preservation
- Know the importance of personal hygiene
- Understand how to keep premises and equipment clean
Entry Qualifications
There are no formal entry qualifications for this course.
However, it is expected that you are working in the Catering or Hospitality industry.
Attendance
You will attend Spalding Campus between 9:00am and 4:00pm on Wednesday 24th April 2024
Fees
This course will cost £85. This cost will cover your exam fee and materials.

How Will I Be Assessed
The day will conclude with a multiple choice examination and successful candidates will receive a certificate issued by the City & Guilds Awarding Body. The examination will consist of 40 questions, of which 28 must be correct. One hour is allowed to complete this examination.
Where Could It Lead?
Successful completion would enable candidates to progress onto higher awards within Supervising Food Safety in Catering.
