The assessment of Pearson's Higher National qualifications are criterion-referenced and you will provide evidence in the form of assignments, which are assessed against the unit learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
All units are individually graded as a pass, merit or distinction. A pass is awarded for the achievement of all outcomes against the specified assessment criteria. Merit and distinction grades are awarded for higher level achievement.
Your assessment consists of 74% coursework and 26% practical examination e.g. presentations and group discussions.
The Pearson HNC and HND qualifications are highly valued by employers and can lead to careers in business specialisms such as finance, human resources, management or marketing, as well as other business related careers. The qualifications also offer a progression route to the professional qualifications offered by organisations like the Chartered Institute of Marketing, management accountants and personnel development.
A key progression path for the Pearson HND learners is the third year of a degree or honours degree programme depending on the degree in question.
