The Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Business will develop your skills for a range of administrative and management positions in this sector, with a focus on operational management. You will learn about strategic practices, and broaden your knowledge on behaviours, of both organisations and their customers. This course will continue to develop and improve your ability and prepare you for management positions in your future.
The structure of the programme provides an innovative and creative curriculum, covering core areas such as the business environment, business communication and information, marketing and human resources – all fundamental to the success of business organisations.
The Full Time HND in Business will take you two years to complete. During your first year, you will study a Level 4 HNC. This can be a standalone one year qualification. Upon successful completion of the first year, you will then progress on to the second year to study the Level 5 HND.

The course is delivered using a balance between practical and theory. It will include e-learning, one-to-one support, individual learning plans, external visits, events and speakers.
An MMP profile on a Business BTEC Level 3 course or a related subject (minimum 80 new UCAS points), or an Access to Higher Education qualification.
You will also need a Level 2 qualification or above in English and Maths (e.g. GCSE or Functional Skills) and/or minimum IELTS score 6.
Individual cases will be considered and please note relevant work experience will be taken in to consideration if you fall outside of any of these categories.
The HND can also be studied as a one year top-up if you already hold a relevant HNC.
The Pearson Business HND will take you two years to complete. You will attend College two days a week for two years, plus independent study. (Days will alternate from year one to year two).
If you are choosing to start your study of the one year HND top-up in September 2019 this course will run in Boston.
Please note, the HND can also be studied as a one year top-up if you already hold a relevant HNC.
During your programme of study, 30% will be within lectures and 70% through independent study.

The assessment consists of both coursework and practical examination e.g. presentations and group discussions.
The assessment of Pearson's Higher National qualifications are criterion-referenced and you will provide evidence in the form of assignments, which are assessed against the unit learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
The Pearson HNC and HND qualifications are highly valued by employers and can lead to careers in business specialisms such as finance, human resources, management or marketing, as well as other business related careers. The qualifications also offer a progression route to the professional qualifications offered by organisations like the Chartered Institute of Marketing, management accountants and personnel development.
A key progression path for the Pearson HND learners is the third year of a degree or honours degree programme depending on the degree in question.
