The Eyelash and Eyebrow Treatments Award Level 2 and Makeup Treatments Award Level 2 (Combined Course) is designed to enable students to achieve a qualification in both Eyelash and Eyebrow Treatments Award Level 2 and Makeup Treatments Award Level 2.

Eyelash and Eyebrow Treatments Award Level 2: This qualification has been specifically designed to develop your practical skills in shaping (tweezers) and colouring (tinting eyelashes and eyebrows). You will learn how to maintain the original eyebrow shape or to change the shape of the eyebrow if desired. You will also learn about different colour characteristics and the chemical process of tinting. The purpose of this qualification is to develop your practical skills to a high level of occupational ability to enable you to provide shaping and colouring treatments for the eyelashes and eyebrows.

Makeup Treatments Award Level 2: This qualification is about providing makeup services for a variety of occasions, including day, evening and special occasions. You will need to show you can work with a variety of skin types and conditions. The qualification covers the application of a wide range of makeup products to different skin tones and age groups. To carry out this qualification you will need to maintain effective health, safety and hygiene throughout your work. You will also need to maintain your personal appearance and good communication with the client.

What will I do?

The main outcomes of the Eyelash and Eyebrow Treatments Award Level 2 are:

  • Be able to prepare for eyelash and eyebrow treatments
  • Be able to provide eyelash and eyebrow treatments

The main outcomes of the Makeup Treatments Award Level 2 are:

  • Maintain safe and effective methods of working when providing make-up services
  • Consult, plan and prepare for make-up services
  • Apply make-up products
  • Provide aftercare advice

During this course, students can choose to complete the following additional qualifications that can be included as part of this course:

  • Preparing to Run a Hair and Beauty Business Award Level 2
  • Preventing Contact Dermatitis Award Level 2
  • Skin Cancer Awareness for Non-Healthcare Professionals Award Level 2

There are no formal entry qualifications for this course.

This course will take you a total of 15 weeks to complete. You will study at our Boston Campus (Rochford) for 3 hours a week every Tuesday.

The Eyelash and Eyebrow Treatments Award Level 2 and Makeup Treatments Award Level 2 (Combined Course) may be fully funded by the Adult Education Budget should you be eligible under the following criteria:

  • Be aged 19 or older on the 31st August at the start of the current academic year
  • Be either unemployed and receiving JSA, ESA or Universal Credit (subject to criteria) OR be earning less than £20,319 (annual gross salary) a year

If you do not qualify for funding under the AEB budget this course will cost £354.50. This includes a £300 tuition fee and a £54.50 examination fee.

You will be assessed via observed work, 2 exams and portfolio/assignment work.

Completion of this course will equip the learner with the skill needed to apply their learning to their career. There are also opportunities to progress onto further education at the College.
