Our Level 2 (Intermediate) Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship is a nationally recognised course involving the use of intermediate beauty therapy techniques and training, offering you the opportunity to gain hands on industry experience.
This course supports Junior Beauticians who are working in the industry and wish to gain a nationally recognised qualification.
During your apprenticeship you will cover the following:
The apprenticeship framework also consists of several elements, which have been identified by employers as an appropriate set of skills to operate in their chosen job role.
These elements are:
Maths - You will be required to have already achieved a Grade 4 or above in GCSE or equivalent.
English - You will be required to have already achieved a Grade 4 or above in GCSE or equivalent.
ICT -Level 2 is a requirement of these Apprenticeships unless an equivalent qualification has already been achieved.
ERR - Employee Rights and Responsibilities, which includes health and safety, equality and diversity as well as employment legislation.
PLTS - Personal Learning and Thinking Skills, which includes team working, creative thinking and reflective learning.
Vocational Element (Knowledge) - most Apprenticeship frameworks include off-the-job study for a technical certificate, which is usually done at College.
Vocational Element (Competence) - all Apprenticeships include on-the-job training and assessment leading to a competence based vocational qualification.
In addition to your course, you may also study either Functional Skills or GCSE English and Maths, dependent on your current GCSE grade.
The entry qualifications for the Level 2 Beauty Therapy Apprenticeship are GCSE grade 3 or above (Old GCSE grade D or above). This should include English and Maths at Grade 3 (Old GSE Grade D) or Functional Skills Level 1 in English and Maths
You will also need employment within a suitable setting.
As an Apprentice, you will pay no course fees. However, your employer may have to pay towards your training as well as providing you with a wage (please see below).

All Apprentices will receive a minimum wage of £3.90 per hour within their first year of training from their employer, although they can, and often do, pay more.
In the second and subsequent years of an Apprenticeship programme, the following applies:
Under 18s – the required national minimum wage of £4.35 per hour.
18–20 year olds - the required national minimum wage of £6.15 per hour.
21-24 year olds - the required national minimum wage of £7.70 per hour.
25 year olds and over – the required national minimum wage of £8.21 per hour.
