Journaling is a process of making a visual record and what you choose to record is entirely personal. The course will explore 3 different types of journaling:

  • Recording (e.g. favourite recipes)
  • Remembering (e.g. places visited)
  • Rejuvenating (e.g. inspirational quotes for wellbeing)

You will gain tips and ideas to begin journaling, learn about mental wellbeing, with links made to Mindfulness and the evidence-based research behind creativity.

What will I do?

During this course you will learn different skills and techniques to apply to making your own journal.

By the end of the course, you will have explored a range of techniques such as:

  • Mono printmaking using found objects
  • Collage with mixed media and creative writing approaches

Demonstrations will show you different methods/styles of making journals which will help to inform your personal choice, when making your own journal. You will be encouraged to undertake personal research and obtain resources to include in your own journal.

There is no formal entry requirement. No experience of art making is required.

Creativity for Wellbeing – Entry 3 Award in Journalling will take you 4 weeks to complete. Starting Tuesday 9th January 2024, you will attend college for one session per week 6:00pm – 9:00pm at our Boston Campus (Rochford).
