The Part Time Level 4 Accounting Professional Diploma is ideal for those who are at a more advanced stage in their career and want a qualification to give them the confidence and proof that they have the skills to do the job.

It is an ideal progression route for employees who already have an advanced level of finance knowledge and who are looking to develop their skills in accounting. This is also an advantageous qualification for employers looking to up skill their staff.

What will I do?

The Level 4 Accounting Professional Diploma consists of six units and covers higher accounting tasks, including drafting financial statements, managing budgets and evaluating finance performance.

The entry qualifications for the Level 4 Accounting Professional Diploma are five GCSEs at grades 4 or above (Old GCSE grade C or above) including English and Maths. It is also desirable that you have a Merit at AAT Level 3, as well as evidence of current or very recent work-based industry-relevant practice.

However, all applications will be considered on an individual basis and will be subject to the entry requirements alongside a successful interview with the course tutor.

The Accounting Professional Diploma will take you two years to complete. You will attend College on Thursday afternoons, 1:00pm – 4:30pm

You will also be expected to study independently outside of the classroom.

Please note this course can also be studied full time over one year.

The Accounting Professional Diploma is free, if you are under the age of 19 on 31 August of the year you start the course.

You will also need to register with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) - which is currently £135

Aged 19+?
If you are aged 19 years or over on the 1st day of your course, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with your College fees. If you progress to employment you won't have to pay anything back until you’re earning £25,000 per year. Your household income isn't taken into account and there's no credit check. The majority of the Accounting Professional Diploma is assessed by computer based exams. You will be expected to undertake a considerable amount of private study in order to successfully achieve this qualification. It is recommended that you dedicate at least 12 hours per week to your studies outside of college.

Successful completion of the Accounting Professional Diploma should enhance your job prospects in a huge range of business organisations. It will also give you exemption from certain levels of various professional accounting qualifications including CIMA and may allow you to specialize in areas such as tax, auditing and credit control.

Additional costs include purchasing an A4 folder for your work, pen, pencil and paper and basic calculator.
