The Level 3 Accounting Advanced Diploma is taught over a number of units which include: accounts preparation, and cost and revenues. The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) provides recognised qualifications for the finance industry.

The course is delivered using a competence based and practical approach to study.

What will I do?

The Level 3 Accounting Advanced Diploma is taught over six units, including; Advanced Bookkeeping, Final Accounts Preparation, Indirect Tax, and Spreadsheet Software.

The entry qualifications for the Level 3 Accounting Advanced Diploma are five GCSEs at grade 4 or above (Old GCSE grade C and above) including English and Maths (or equivalent) plus successful completion of the Level 2 qualification and/or evidence of recent, relevant skills and experience.

If you do not have the required English and Maths entry criteria, you will be required to complete a diagnostic test for each subject to ensure suitability for the course.

If however you fall outside of any of these categories, individual cases will be considered.

The Accounting Advanced Diploma will take you one year, September to June, to complete.

The Accounting Advanced Diploma is free for those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course.

For those aged 19+, this course will cost £2573 which includes all examination and tuition fees. Examination re-sit fees will apply.

You will also need to register with the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) - which is currently £132.

Aged 19+?
If you are aged 19 years or over on the first day of the course you may qualify for an Advanced Learning Loan to help with your College fees. If you progress to employment, you won't have to pay anything back until you’re earning £25,000 per year. Your household income isn't taken into account and there's no credit check. The Accounting Advanced Diploma is assessed through computer based examinations.

You will also be expected to undertake considerable private study.

Successful completion of the Accounting Advanced Diploma should enhance your job prospects in a huge range of business organisations.

It will also give you exemption from certain levels of various professional accounting qualifications such as the Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting or Higher Apprenticeship.

You will need to purchase an A4 folder for your work, pen, pencil and paper and basic calculator.
