This Access to Health and Social Care Professions programme is designed for adults interested in undertaking nursing, midwifery, paramedic science, physiotherapy, occupational health, radiography and other health and social care related training.
Successful completion of the course could also lead to progression onto the College's University Level courses. You could study the HNC/HND in Health and Social Care on your doorstep.
To achieve on this course, you will complete 60 credits made up of study skills with an emphasis on computing and the rest being made up of various business modules from marketing to business operations management.
To undertake the course full time, you will need Maths and English at Level 2 GCSE Grade 4 (legacy grade C)or above. Functional skills for both at Level 2 will also be accepted.
To join us part time you only need one Level 2 qualification in English or Maths, and we will work with you to gain your other Level 2 over the 2-year part time course.
Access to Health Professions will take you 1 year to complete. Based at our Boston Campus (Rochford), you will study 1 sessions a week either in the day or in the evening to suit your availability.
Sessions begin on Monday 18th September 2023, 9:15am – 3:15pm, Wednesday 20th September 2023, 9:15am – 3:15pm or Wednesday 20th September 2023 5:00pm – 9:00pm depending on your choice of day or evening sessions.
Day sessions are running on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday, 9:15am – 3:15pm, with evening sessions running on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 5:00pm – 9:00pm.
For those aged 19-23 on the first day of the course, if this is your first Level 3 course your fees should be free. The Access Health Professions to programme will cost £3384.
If you have already gained a Level 3 qualification you may still be able to apply for an Advanced Learning Loan. If you need to pay fees, you may qualify for an Advanced Learning Loan to help with your college fees. If you progress to university, you won’t have to repay the loan and if you progress to employment you won't have to pay anything back until you’re earning £25,000 per year. Your household income isn't considered and there's no credit check. Your eligibility depends on your course, nationality, and age.

For the full diploma to be awarded you will need to compile a portfolio of assignments, which are externally moderated by CAVA. You will learn by a variety of processes including theory and practice, portfolio assignments, individual and group work.
