This course is aimed at anyone who is thinking about, or has just started researching their family history.
The course will cover the following topics:
· Where to start
· Civil Registration
· The Census
· Records and where to find them
· Useful publications and societies
· Common pitfalls
· Using computers to help with your research, including the following activities:
~ Accessing the 1881 Census
~ Family History Society membership details
~ National Archives information sheets
~ Searching for Birth, Marriage and Death details
This course which is available throughout the year will take about 6 hours to complete depending on your prior level of knowledge.
You will need to have basic computer skills such as using a mouse and keyboard.
