ABTAC in Travel and Tourism
Level 2

INTRODUCTION

These Level 2 certificates from City and Guilds will provide you with a recognised travel industry qualification.  The syllabus is designed to include many of the skills needed to work as a Leisure Travel consultant and includes the Travel Insurance which is a necessity for working consultants.

WHAT WILL I DO

You will study 3 units taken from City & Guilds First Diploma in Travel and Tourism Level 2.

Some units are assessed by the production of a portfolio of evidence and others by an on-line multiple choice examination.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE

One year as a part-time or as a compulsory supplementary course for BTEC National Diploma in Travel and Tourism students (approx 6 hours a week - during 2011/12 Thursdays 9.15 - 3pm - subject to change in 2012/13)

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

Part time applicants should demonstrate a proven commitment and enthusiasm for the profession and supply a positive reference.

WHERE COULD IT LEAD

Successful candidates can progress to work in a retail travel agency.

The course fee is £489

Full time Courses are free for those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course. For others, fees may vary depending on personal circumstances. Please enquire for details.
