The Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is a qualification aimed at all employees. The qualification is intended for candidates already in workplaces and those who are preparing to start or return to work. It is also very useful for young persons to raise their ability to identify and understand hazards when preparing for work experience and into employment. Persons gaining this qualification will know that health and safety is the responsibility of everyone within a business, its contractors, visitors and suppliers. Its syllabus areas are regarded by the Health and Safety Executive as being important to maintaining safe working procedures in the workplace.

The day will conclude with a multiple choice examination and successful candidates will receive a certificate issued by the Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance. The examination will consist of 30 questions, of which 20 must be correct. One hour is allowed to complete this examination. If you believe you will require reasonable adjustments please let us know as soon as possible in order for us to assess your needs.
It is advised that candidates have a minimum of Level 1 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent in order to attend this course.
This qualification provides the opportunity for further study e.g.IOSH, or NEBOSH.
