Children and Young People´s Workforce Diploma (CYPW)
Level 3

INTRODUCTION

This qualification is for those who wish to work in the Children and Young People’s Workforce. You can apply to start the course with Boston College at anytime during the year, as we have frequent start dates available.

Qualification Structure

The Diploma is made up of the following:

The qualification covers knowledge of children and young people from birth to 19 years.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE

You will attend college fortnightly, on a Wednesday evening 6:30 – 8.30pm. It will usually take you up to 18 months to complete. It may be possible to complete the course in a shorter time.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

There are no formal entry requirements. However, you will be required to be an experienced volunteer or be employed in a suitable child care setting for a minimum of 12 hours per week. This setting should be supporting children who are within the Early Years Foundation Stage. (Birth to the end of their reception year in school)

Your suitability for the course will be discussed at interview. In addition to the interview you will be asked for two satisfactory references and a clear CRB check.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Evidence for each unit is gathered using a selection of different methods including being observed in practice by an allocated assessor, completing set tasks and producing written evidence of practice and knowledge.
