Children and Young People´s Workforce Certificate (CYPW)
Level 2

INTRODUCTION

This new qualification will contain a mixture of core, mandatory and optional units tailored to the area for the children and young peoples workforce in which you are employed or volunteering.

This course is for those with little or no experience in working with children, and is a stepping stone that will allow you to progress onto a level 3 childcare qualification.

You can apply to start the course with Boston College at anytime during the year, as we have frequent start dates available.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE

You will attend college fortnightly, on a Thursday evening 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm and will be required to volunteer or to be employed in a suitable childcare setting for a minimum of 10 hours per week.

The course is a 12 month course, but may in some cases be completed more quickly.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

There are no formal entry requirements. Your suitability for the course will be discussed at interview. In addition to the interview you will be asked for two satisfactory references and a clear CRB check.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Evidence for each unit is gathered using a selection of different methods including being observed in practice by an allocated assessor, completing set tasks and producing written evidence of practice and knowledge.
