INTRODUCTION

You can chose to study this course at either Boston College, Skirbeck Road, Boston or Red Lion Quarter, Spalding.

The City and Guilds 3792 course covers the standards for adult literacy and /or adult numeracy core curriculum. Certificates in Adult Literacy give people the essentials of literacy, so they have the resources to function effectively in their life and work. They cover three main areas:

Certificates in Adult Numeracy cover key areas in numeracy enabling learners to use numbers every day in a variety of important ways. They include:

Literacy and Numeracy are available at five levels - entry 1, 2, and 3, and levels 1 and 2.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE

The course is flexible to fit in with the learner’s commitments. There is a choice of days / hours per week on offer, either in the College or local community venues. The learner can choose which sessions they want to attend from a minimum of 2 hours per week

This course may last from 3 weeks to 30 weeks in the day or evening.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

There are no formal entry qualifications.

WHERE COULD IT LEAD

Certificates in Adult Literacy and Adult Numeracy can help learners gain access to success and progression, in work and in their day-to-day lives.

Level 1 is equivalent to vocational GCSE grades D –G.
Level 2 is equivalent to vocational GCSE grades A* -C.
