This certificate forms a compulsory part of the BTEC National Certificate in Travel and Tourism, but may also be studied on a part time basis.
The NCFE certificate prepares candidates for entry to the airline industry. It is not intended as a replacement to the training given by airlines but provides the basic background skills, knowledge and understanding required to work effectively as a member of airline cabin crew. It is ideal for those seeking employment or for those wishing to enhance their studies in travel and tourism.
The certificate consists of 6 compulsory units:
Understand the airline industry and the role of airline cabin crew.
Promote effective customer care in the airline industry.
Maintain effective team working and communications in the airline industry.
Contribute to the health and safety of airline passengers.
Contribute to aviation security.
Demonstrate an understanding of the airport arrival process.
These 6 units are assessed internally by the production of a portfolio of evidence.
This course is offered over 30 weeks on a Part-time & Supplementary basis on Wednesdays. Times TBC.
Part time applicants should demonstrate a proven commitment, enthusiasm and suitability for the profession and supply a positive reference.
Successful candidates should find their prospects of employment in the airline industry enhanced. Those meeting bmi criteria will be guaranteed an interview.

£47 plus cost of course related trips and purchase of scarf/tie for uniform (TBC)
As role plays and presentation form an integral part of the course it is expected that particpants wear a uniform of a smart white shirt and black skirt/trousers with scarf or tie that will be provided at cost price.
