Diploma in Basic Reflexology Techniques
Level 2

INTRODUCTION

This VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Reflexology is designed to enable the student to assess a client for treatment and to apply reflexology and foot massage for relaxation and stimulation purposes using various techniques. The beauty section has three fully equipped salons, together with a reception area for all practical skills. Theory sessions will be taught either in the resource area or in various classrooms.

WHAT WILL I DO?

The course consists of 6 elements:
Element 1 - Assess the client for reflexology treatment
Element 2 - Prepare the client and apply foot massage
Element 3 - Apply reflexology treatment
Element 4 - Evaluate the effectiveness of reflexology treatment and provide after care advice.
Element 5 - Use communication skills for client consultation.
Element 6 - Use communication skills for therapy assessments.
The course will include theoretical and practical sessions including oral and written tests, assignment work and individual/group work together with the production of a portfolio of evidence. Students will also be required to undertake case studies in their own time together with carrying out treatments on clients within the College salon. Students may be assessed on prior learning and credit given where applicable.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE

This course is offered over 1 Year on a part-time evening basis.

A minimum of 80% attendance is required in order to achieve this qualification.

WHERE COULD IT LEAD

Students may progress to other therapies such as Swedish massage, Indian Head Massage, Stone Therapy and Beauty therapy or seek employment within the field.

Students will need to supply their own towels. 2 bath towels and 4 hand towels.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Where courses last for more than one year, only the first year"s fees are shown.

You will also need a White or Black tunic (£30 Approximately) and one course text (£25 Approximately). You will also be required to supply your own towels, 2 bath sheets and 6 hand towels. All students must be willing to have all treatments carried out on themselves during input sessions. All costs must be paid at the beginning of the course.
