Entry 3 Double Award

INTRODUCTION

ABC Practical Languages is a flexible scheme catering for the linguistic needs of a wide range of students. The scheme offers a user-friendly method of continuous assessment that encourages and enables students to achieve a level of competence suitable for progression within the scheme and to further advanced language programmes.

WHAT WILL I DO?

The entry 3 Award consists of 6 units covering the 4 language skills of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing. These skills will be taught within a framework of topics. A minimum of 4 topics must be completed. These topics are:
 
Assessment is by practical exercise ,set and marked within the college and moderated externally. Throughout the year there will be a total of 10 exercises to be completed.
 
Comprising:
 
A full certificate will be awarded to those students who have completed all 6 units within the double award.

ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

This certificate is a compulsory part of the Full-time BTEC National Certificate in Travel and Tourism courses (approx 2 hours of study per week - during 2011/12 Friday afternoon but subject to change in 2012/13).

WHERE COULD IT LEAD

Enhanced language skills will be an advantage in many industries as well as for your personal use abroad.
