Students with Additional Needs and Disabilities.
Boston College is committed to making sure those students with disabilities and other additional needs receive the support they require to achieve the most out of their chosen course. The college is aware that some students may need extra help and support in order to access the full range of college courses and services.
To help with this the college employs an Inclusive Learning Manager and there are a wide range of support measures that can be provided to help individual learners.
The help available can vary but can include support for:
- Dyslexia
- Literacy/Numeracy
- Medical condition
- Mental ill health
- Physical disability
- Behaviour and communication difficulties
- Emotional difficulty
- Learning difficulty
Learners need to let the college know that they need extra help. The College application and enrolment forms provide an early opportunity to do this. College staff will also encourage learners to discuss their support needs through the induction stage of the course and if at any time on their course a learner feels they might need some extra support, they should speak to their tutor or make contact with the Inclusive Learning Manager.
Boston College welcomes applications from people with disabilities and additional needs . A declaration of disability will in no way disadvantage a learner during the application procedure.
If you wish to discuss your support needs at any stage please contact the Inclusive Learning Team – on 01205 365701 ext. 3370 or email: jenny-w@boston.ac.uk
