A Levels, GCSE & BTEC

A LEVELAt Boston College we offer an excellent range of A Level subjects. Many of these you will have studied at school, such as History, English Language, Religious Studies, Mathematics and Science. However, you can also choose subjects that may not have been available at school, including World Development, Law and Sociology.

In the first year you will normally take four AS levels. In the second year you will take three of these as A2s. Think of an AS and an A2 as each being half a full A level.

Shona went to the St Georges Academy in Billingborough and when the time came round to decide what she was to do next she had no worries.

“I didn’t want to go to Sixth Form because I wanted a change in environment, a half way point between School and University”.

Shona came to the College to study AS Levels in Psychology, English Language, Sociology and Media, and has followed all four subjects through to the second year to complete her A Levels.

“I made the right decision to come to college. The tutors have been really helpful, if you ever have a problem there is always someone you could speak to and it is dealt with promptly. The facilities are brilliant, we have access to computers and the library provides a great service”.

With aspirations to go into teaching, Shona plans to go to university in September to study Psycho-Social Study. “The support at the College has given me the confidence and the ability to be able to go to university. I am now waiting on my grades to see where I am going to, which is exciting”.
