Mark Clark Case Study : Mark Clark

Having ambitions to earn money so he could travel Mark decided to go straight into work after completing his GCSEs. After 6 months he decided to go to Ukraine to work with children in a summer camp for 2 weeks and then continued his work at a school for a few more months.

“My experience in Ukraine inspired me so much that I developed a passion to teach and with a strong interest in religion, I liked the idea of teaching religious studies at secondary level.”

“I found out about the Access course and realised that is was the perfect route to get me into university. The programme is very flexible so there is the option to work as well as study and it is nice to work with other adult learners who have come back into education.”

Mark is due to finish his course at Boston College and has been accepted at one of the top 20 Universities in the UK, The University of Glasgow.

“Once I have finished university I plan to take a teaching qualification and eventually move abroad to teach, ideally somewhere warm.”
