The Level 4 Adult Care Diploma is for those working in the care sector, ideally for those in a supervisory positions, deputy managers and coordinators of care.

The course is work based and you will be assessed in the work place by qualified industry assessors.

Upon succesful completion of this course, the qualification you will achieve is the NCFE CACHE Level 4 Diploma in Adult Care.

Please note - Learners studying a Health and Social Care course need to meet current Government legal requirements relating to COVID-19 vaccination status when working in the health and social care sector. This means learners must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, this includes being double vaccinated and having received a booster. Learners need to meet this legal requirement to be able to attend placement, without attending placement learners cannot complete their qualifications.

If you think you may be medically exempt from the COVID-19 mandatory vaccination. Learners will need to provide evidence of an NHS Covid pass medical exemption. There is further guidance on how to apply for a medical exemption and prove you are unable to get vaccinated on the government website.

During the Level 4 Adult Care Diploma you will study 12 mandatory units linked to your work practice:

  • Facilitate Support Planning to Promote Positive Outcomes for Individuals and to Support Wellbeing

  • Health and Safety
  • Professional Practice
  • Develop, Maintain and Use Record and Reports
  • Work in Partnership in Health and Social Care or Children and Young People's Settings
  • Safeguard Children and Young People Who Are Present in the Adult Social Care Sector

You will also study units from a knowledge specialist group and competence units including:

  • Understand Professional Management and Leadership in Health and Social Care or Children and Young People's Settings
  • Understanding Professional Supervision Practice
  • Understand how to Manage a Team
  • Share Knowledge and Good Practice
  • Provide Information, Advice and Guidance
  • Manage Quality
  • Facilitate Change in Health and Social Care

There are no formal entry qualifications for the Adult Care Diploma, however you must be working within the care sector and will need to complete an initial assessment to ensure that you are able to reach the required standard.

The Adult Care Diploma Level 4 will take you 18 months to complete, with flexible start dates meaning you can start at any point throughout the year. As this course is completed In the workplace you will need to ensure you are employed in a relevant setting. You will have monthly update meetings with you assessor.

You will also be expected to study in your own time.

For those aged 19+, this course will cost £2882.

Aged 19+?
If you are aged 19 years or over on the 1st day of your course, you may qualify for an Advanced Learner Loan to help with your College fees. If you progress to employment you won't have to pay anything back until you’re earning £25,000 per year. Your household income isn't taken into account and there's no credit check. This course is 20% practical and 80% theory. All work will be set via criteria of units. Observations throughout the qualification are also essential. Written work via statement and research is also necessary.

Successful completion of this course could lead on to the Leadership and Management Level 5 course recognised by industry experts.
